Sodium metasilicate, also known as water glass or sodium silicate, is a white, granular or powdered substance that is highly soluble in water. It is commonly used as a cleaning agent and in the production of detergents, as well as in the manufacture of ceramics, paper, textiles, and cements. Sodium metasilicate is also used in water treatment to adjust the pH level and reduce the presence of heavy metals. It is a non-toxic and biodegradable substance.
